What You’ll Do
Lead mechanical system design, including airside, hydronic plant, and specialty exhaust systems
Coordinate with architects, project managers, and code officials to deliver integrated designs from concept through construction
Maintain and grow strong client relationships through high-quality project delivery
Prepare design documents, specifications, reports, and presentations, incorporating sustainable practices
Present technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ensure compliance with quality standards and commercial goals
Participate in local professional associations
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
7+ years of HVAC design experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (NYC Codes, ASHRAE Standards, NFPA)
Strong communication, organizational, and client-facing skills
PE license
Experience with energy modeling or simulation tools (e.g., whole building, thermal, airflow)

$130,000+ annually (commensurate with experience and qualifications; NYC-based)

Perform TR-1 and TR-8 inspections
Review and analyze the MEP/FP design drawings prior to inspection to gain familiarity with the design
Perform code review to ensure installations meet the minimum requirements of all applicable codes and standards, including but not limited to: NYC Building Code, Mechanical Code, Fuel Gas Code, Plumbing Code, NFPA Standards including NFPA 13, NFPA 13D, and NFPA 13R for sprinkler systems, etc.
Perform the visual inspection of the project site, record notes and data, take photos, and enter into the Inspection Application
Perform field testing services including:
a. Witness sprinkler system hydrostatic pressure testing as performed by the installing contractor
b. Perform post-install anchor pull testing using the company-provided hydraulic pull-testing apparatus
c. Perform chimney smoke testing using the company-provided smoke blower, record and analyze data
Maintain the field inspection notes and drawings in the central archive
Communicate with the Project Team including the Project Architect, Owner, and General Contractor to set up field inspections
Maintain the inspection schedule
Attend training sessions and continuing education programs to advance your knowledge of testing protocols and obtain certification for various inspections
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering

Prepare design of electrical distribution and equipment specifications for both normal power and emergency power systems
Perform field surveys to verify existing conditions
Prepare construction drawings using both AutoCAD and Revit
Prepare specifications
Research and interpret applicable codes and standards including NYC Building Codes, International Codes, NEC, and Energy Codes
Perform voltage drop calculations
Attend client meetings and coordinate with the project team
Perform site surveys and maintain a ceiling punch list
Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering
5+ years of HVAC design experience
