Albert N. Zirino Jr., PE, LEED AP BD+C

Principal, Lead Mechanical Engineer

Albert has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the City University of New York. Albert has worked on a variety of projects with a focus on high-rise building design, modular design, and central plant designs. His duties have included the design of HVAC and Building Management Controls systems with a focus on sustainability. His attention to detail and cost-conscious approaches enable Owners to work within their budgets through value engineering processes. In addition to managing some of the office’s projects, Albert’s day-to-day duties include the research of new engineering technologies, and keeping abreast with the ever evolving NYC Codes. Albert has over 15 years of experience in the engineering industry. In his free time Albert enjoys hiking, playing the piano, reading, and spending time with his four kids.

Artem Zolotarev, PE, LEED AP BD+C

Principal, Lead Electrical Engineer

Artem Zolotarev has over 15 years of professional experience in MEP engineering and design for new and existing real estate development projects. Having started his engineering career with WSP Group in midtown Manhattan, a leading MEP design firm, Artem had an opportunity to work as a project manager and a lead engineer on numerous diverse projects. These projects included premier buildings in NYC such as the Barclays Center, 30 Park Place, 53 West 53rd Street, Riverside Development as well as other low-rise and high-rise buildings with commercial offices, residential, retail, hospitality and mixed-use developments. Artem’s exceptional technical knowledge and extensive experience in the industry have played a key role in the success of the projects he was previously involved in. Artem is a member of the Fire Protection Technical Committee and Electrical Technical Committee responsible for reviewing specific chapters of the New York City Construction Codes and developing revisions for the current code revision cycle. Artem holds a Master’s of Electrical Engineering degree from Polytechnic University (NYU). He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the States of New York and New Jersey and is a LEED Accredited Professional. In his free time, Artem likes hunting, mountain biking, and spending time with his daughter.

Sam Sangankar

Mechanical Engineer

Sam holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Sam is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers. Sam’s project duties including the design of both HVAC, Plumbing and Sprinklers systems for both residential buildings, office fit-out, restaurant and retail fit-out design projects. Sam has 5 years of experience in the engineering industry having started his career with ANZ. In his free time Sam enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time dreaming in his chemistry lab at home.

Oscar Segal, PE, LEED AP BD+C

Electrical Engineer

Oscar holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University. Oscar has worked on a broad array of projects in the New York City area with a focus on low-rise residential projects, mission critical facilities, commercial interiors and retail projects. Oscar’s project duties include the design of Electrical Power Distribution Systems and Fire Alarm systems. Oscar has 15 years of experience in the engineering industry. Oscar holds a Professional Engineering license in the states of New York and Delaware and is NABCEP certified. In his free time Oscar enjoys stock trading, reading Sci-Fi books, and drawing.

Muzhi Wang

Mechanical Engineer

Muzhi holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. Muzhi comes to ANZ with one year of experience in the Building Systems industry having worked on various residential and restaurant projects. His duties include the design of HVAC systems, preparation of load calculations, and CAD drafting. Muzhi speaks Mandarin Chinese and is fluent in French.

Nicholas Zirino

Office Manager

Nick holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Brooklyn College. Nick has been an integral part of the ANZ team since its founding, wearing more hats than are for sale at Lids. Nick’s duties include financial management, employee benefits, and project management. Nick processes all Department of Buildings and Department of Environmental Protection Filings. Nick has helped the team seamlessly move to the new DOB NOW filing system. In his free time Nick enjoys hiking with his brother, cooking, eating, and spending time with his three kids.
